Vol. 182 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Roscrea and Nenagh Housing Requirements.

6.

asked the Minister for Local Government the number of houses required to satisfy the housing demands of Roscrea, County Tipperary, and the date of the last survey.

I am informed by Tipperary (N.R.) County Council that a survey of the housing needs of Roscrea town which has recently been carried out by their officers indicates that approximately 49 families in the town may require to be rehoused by the Council in new houses or in vacancies in existing Council houses.

7.

asked the Minister for Local Government the number of houses required to satisfy the housing demands, as ascertained at the last housing survey, of Nenagh Urban Council, County Tipperary, and the date of the survey.

According to the latest available information which was furnished by Nenagh Urban District Council on 1st October last, the number of applicants approved by them who were awaiting rehousing by the Council was 15 and there were 25 further families living in unfit or overcrowded dwellings. The last general survey by the County Medical Officer of housing conditions in Nenagh appears to have been carried out in 1954.
