Vol. 183 No. 10

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Chapelizod National Schools: Overcrowded Classes.

11.

Mr. Ryan

asked the Minister for Education if he is aware of the serious overcrowding which exists in some classes in Chapelizod National Schools; and if he will take steps to improve the position.

The accommodation in the Boys' School at Chapelizod appears to be adequate. Up to 31st March last the accommodation for girls was ample but the returns indicate that there was slight overcrowding in the quarter ended 30th June, 1960. I will have the matter investigated when the schools reopen after the summer vacation.
