Vol. 184 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Road Traffic Offences.

9.

asked the Minister for Justice the number of convictions for road traffic offences from the 1st January last to the latest convenient date.

The latest available figures, which relate to the year ended 30th September, 1959, are included in the last annual Crime Report, which is available in the library. It is not possible, without an elaborate and expensive special enquiry, to supply figures of prosecutions in respect of any portion of the current calendar year.

10.

asked the Minister for Justice the amount collected in fines imposed in respect of road traffic offences from the 1st January last to the latest convenient date.

The amount collected in fines imposed in respect of road traffic offences from the 1st January to the 30th June, 1960, was £21,565.
