Vol. 185 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Assault on Pupil.

43.

asked the Minister for Education whether he has considered and decided on the disciplinary action needed in the case reported on the 15th instant in which a Mr. Lynch, while teaching in a national school, assaulted a child of eight, causing injuries resulting in a separation of the ear from the scalp in addition to residual neurological damage, and in which there was a successful Circuit Court action for damages against the man concerned.

This case is at present under official investigation. I am, therefore, not in a position to make any statement in regard to it.
