Vol. 185 No. 5

Order of Business.

It is proposed to take business in the following order: Nos. 1, 8, 4, 9, 10, 11, 3, 12 and 13.

We are sitting on Tuesday, which makes no provision for Private Deputies' Business. Has that matter been considered and is it proposed to make any provision tomorrow?

No; I had not contemplated making any provision tomorrow.

The Government do not propose to have any Private Deputies' Business this week?

I think it desirable that the Dáil should adjourn tomorrow at 5 o'clock.

Do the Government intend to give Private Members' Time?

I do not see that it would be possible.

May I ask the Taoiseach will he make up for the loss of Private Members' Time?

There is no question of making up. Private Deputies' Business has in fact received more time in this session than there would have been available if the Dáil had met on Fridays.

The Taoiseach knows perfectly well that the normal procedure was that three hours per week were devoted to Private Members' Time.

Three and a half.

There have been only 1½ hours, with the exception of two days when the Government had no business.
