Vol. 185 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Workmen's Compensation Allowance.

4.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare if it is proposed to increase the present workmen's compensation allowance of £4 10s. 0d. per week; and whether he considers that this sum is sufficient, having regard to the present value of money.

It is my intention to examine fully all aspects of the existing Workmen's Compensation Scheme when the recommendations of the Commission on Workmen's Compensation are available.

Meanwhile it is not proposed to alter the existing maximum weekly payment of £4 10s. 0d. or any other feature of the scheme.
