Vol. 185 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Acquisition of Meath Lands.

49.

asked the Minister for Lands whether the Land Commission have considered the propriety of acquiring the McDonnell lands (formerly Coleman) at Mulgeeth, Enfield, County Meath; and, if so, what is the present position of the acquisition proceedings.

It has not been possible to identify the lands from the particulars supplied. Perhaps the Deputy is referring to a farm, formerly owned by the Coleman family, in the neighbouring townland of Mucklon, County Kildare. The Land Commission had proceedings for the acquisition of these lands in 1955, when they were in different ownership, but the owner's objection was allowed. There are now no proceedings in respect of the lands.
