Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Re-opening of Galway Lead Mines.

36.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce whether it is proposed to re-open the lead mines at Glengolla, Oughterard, County Galway; if so, when; whether a mining survey of this area has been made; and, if so, with what result.

There are no known proposals for the re-opening of the lead mines at Glengowla. The site has been examined by the Geological Survey on several occasions, and the records may be inspected at the Geological Survey Office, Hume Street, Dublin.
