Vol. 187 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Donegal Social Welfare Applicants.

3.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare if he will transfer applicants for unemployment assistance and unemployment benefit in the Greffey, Ardara, Dowros and Maas areas, County Donegal, from Dungloe employment exchange to Killybegs exchange, to which there are more transport facilities.

Applicants for Unemployment Assistance and Unemployment Benefit from the areas mentioned reside over six miles from Dungloe Employment Exchange and, therefore, have their applications dealt with entirely through the post unless, of course, they call to the Exchange at their own wish. As these persons are also over six miles from the local office at Killybegs the position would be exactly the same if they were to be transferred to that office. In view of this I do not see how the question of transport facilities can arise in this matter.
