Vol. 187 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - C.I.E. Employees' Deferred Pensions.

22.

asked the Minister for Transport and Power the present position regarding deferred pensions payable to Córas Iompair Éireann employees who have attained the normal retiring age of 65 since they retired on compensation under the Transport Act, 1958; what progress has been made since replies of 18th May, 1960, and 3rd November, 1960, on the same subject; and if he will state the reasons for the prolonged delay in reaching finality in the matter.

Orders confirming the revised amending schemes submitted by C.I.E. have not been made with retrospective effect from 1st October, 1958.

Pending the making of these Orders C.I.E. have been making interim weekly payments to ex-employees over 65 years of age who are concerned.
