Vol. 188 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - British Commonwealth: Decision of South African Government.

19.

andMr. McQuillan asked the Minister for External Affairs whether the decision of the South African Government to leave the British Commonwealth will have any citizenship or trading repercussions between this country and South Africa.

The possible consequences of the departure of South Africa from the British Commonwealth for our trading and citizenship relations are being studied and I am not yet in a position to make a statement on the subject.
