Vol. 188 No. 10

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Laois Drainage Work.

18.

asked the Minister for Lands if the Forestry Division of his Department is responsible for the maintenance and repair of 60 perches of a drain between the townlands of Coolaghy and Ballycullane and leading along the boundary wall of Emo Park; if so, if he is aware that this drain is causing serious flooding to nine local farmers in the area; and if in view of the fact that a joint application for drainage under the Land Reclamation Scheme cannot be undertaken until this stretch of drain is sunk and widened by his Department, he will authorise work to commence as this proposal is one of great urgency.

Work on the cleaning and deepening of the drain in question is being put in hands.

Questions Nos. 19, 20, and 21 postponed.
