It is assumed that the question is concerned with the disposal of State-owned lands and buildings which have become surplus to requirements. Such property is disposed of in accordance with the provisions of the State Property Act, 1954 which do not require that public tenders should be invited. It is, however, the general practice to invite public tenders except where the public interest would be better served by disposal otherwise.
