Vol. 189 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Corporation Supplementary Housing Grants.

33.

asked the Minister for Local Government the number of applications received for Corporation supplementary grants from persons anxious to make their own arrangements to provide their families with housing accommodation; the number of applications sanctioned; the number of applications rejected; the number of applications postponed for further consideration; the cause of the rejections; and whether any appeal is allowed against these rejections.

The particulars sought by the Deputy are not available in my Department. The making or refusal of a supplementary grant under the Housing Acts in any particular case is a matter for decision by the housing authority, subject to the relevant statutory provisions. These provisions do not provide for appeal to the Minister.
