Vol. 189 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Cork Application for Military Service Medal.

43.

asked the Minister for Defence if in the course of investigations carried out into the application of Mr. J.J. Campbell, Ballyarra, Castlelyons, County Cork, for a military service medal his immediate O/C, Mr. Peter McDonnell, was at any time contacted.

The person mentioned by the Deputy is not recorded as having been an officer of the unit of which the applicant claimed to have been a member continuously for the period of three months which ended on the 11th July, 1921. He was not, therefore, requested to furnish a report in the case. He furnished a certificate of his own volition but, for the reason mentioned, account could not be taken of it.
