Vol. 189 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Industrial Assurance.

9.

andMr. McQuillan asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he has completed his consideration of the individual case of industrial assurance referred to by him on 24th May, 1961; and, if so, what action he proposes to take in the matter.

I have not yet completed my consideration of this matter.

Would the Minister say whether the case mentioned by him in the House last week is the one a report of which appeared in the daily papers within the past fortnight?

That case did raise the question which is at present under investigation by the Minister.

I asked the Minister what is the case to which he has referred in his reply. Is this the High Court case in connection with the New Ireland Assurance Company, a report of which appeared in the daily papers within the past fortnight? Is that the case the Minister is examining?

As far as I know, that was the only case of its kind so it must be the case concerned.

I take it, therefore, it is the case concerned?

As far as I know, it is the only case of its kind which has been successfully brought through the courts, so it must be the case.
