The Deputy's question is hypothetical and does not admit of an exact answer because it is not possible to say what quantities would have been consumed in 1960/61 if 1956/57 tax rates still applied. The reply is based on the actual net duty-paid quantities for 1960/61. As it is in the form of a tabular statement, I propose, with the permission of the Ceann Comhairle, to circulate it with the Official Report.
