Vol. 189 No. 10

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Youghal Housing Scheme.

44.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he is aware of the demand by the workers of Youghal, County Cork, to have a new scheme of houses erected in Youghal town; and what action his Department will take in this matter.

I understand from the housing authority that there is a need for further houses in Youghal.

Responsibility for the initiation of proposals to meet these needs rests with the housing authority who, I am informed, are taking preliminary steps for the provision of a scheme of some 24 houses and are considering the acquisition of further sites.
