asked the Minister for Education whether his Department have any function in relation to Coláiste Bhríde, An Fhálcarrach, County Donegal; and, if so, what the position is in regard to the future of the College.

After 31st July next when Coláiste Bhríde will cease to be a preparatory college, I will have no function in relation to it. It has been decided that the college premises and property will be disposed of for purposes connected with the Irish language. The disposal will be a matter for the Commissioners of Public Works.

21.

asked the Minister for Education whether, in view of the fact that there is no secondary boarding school in the Donegal Gaeltacht, his Department will take active steps to ensure that Coláiste Bhríde, An Fhálcarrach, County Donegal, which is now in danger of being closed, will be set up as such a school.

This position has already been fully examined. The examination disclosed that due to the existing facilities for post-primary education in the area there would not be scope for a further secondary school either boarding or day.
