19.

asked the Minister for Education the number of pupils (a) from secondary schools in which all subjects are taught through the medium of Irish, and (b) from secondary schools in which all subjects are not taught through the medium of Irish, who sat for the Intermediate and Leaving Certificate Examinations in each year of the years 1951 to 1960, inclusive; and the percentages of pupils who obtained Honours Intermediate and Leaving Certificates, who obtained Pass Intermediate and Leaving Certificates, and who failed the Intermediate and Leaving Certificate Examinations, in each of the above classes of schools (a) and (b) in each of the years 1951 to 1960, inclusive.

The reply is in the form of a tabular statement which, with the permission of the Ceann Comhairle, will be circulated with the Official Report.
