Vol. 190 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Aughleam (Mayo) School.

48.

asked the Minister for Education when work on the new school at Aughleam, County Mayo, is likely to begin.

I understand that arrangements are being made locally to have a well sunk to provide a water supply for sanitation purposes at the proposed new school at Aughleam. When the Commissioners of Public Works are assured that an adequate water supply is available, preparation of working drawings and a specification for the new school will be undertaken.

I am not in a position to say when work on the new school is likely to begin.

The Minister, of course, knows that the boring of this well started about six weeks ago. Is there any result yet?

No result has been sent on to my Department.

They are still boring?

There may be a scarcity of water there.

They might strike oil there yet.
