Vol. 190 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Ballyheaphy (Waterford) School.

44.

asked the Minister for Education if he is aware of the very poor state of repair of the national school at Ballyheaphy, County Waterford; and if he will take immediate steps to have a new school erected which will serve the needs of the children of the locality.

I am aware that a new building to replace the existing national school at Ballyheaphy, Co. Waterford, is required. Ballyheaphy School is in the parish of Ballyduff, Co. Waterford, and it has been decided that the new school should be erected in the adjoining parish of Ballyporeen, Co. Tipperary, as the majority of the pupils attending the school come from that parish.

The question of securing a suitable site for the proposed new school is receiving attention at present.
