Vol. 191 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Relief of Flooding by Brown Flesk (Kerry).

7.

asked the Minister for Finance if he is now in a position to state what steps are being taken to prevent the frequent and serious flooding by the Brown Flesk, which is the main tributary of the River Maine; and if he will ensure that such relief of flooding takes place before the completion of the drainage of the River Maine.

The Brown Flesk River was not included in the scheme for the Maine catchment area because satisfactory treatment could not be carried out at anything like a reasonable cost. In view of repeated local representations the question is being re-examined jointly by the Engineers of the Office of Public Works and the County Council.
