Vol. 191 No. 15

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Speed of Traffic in Phoenix Park.

11.

Mr. Ryan

asked the Minister for Finance whether there is a bye-law controlling the speed of traffic in the Phoenix Park; if so, if he will ensure that it is respected; and, if no such bye-law exists, if he will take steps to impose a speed limit in the Park in view of the large number of pedestrians and children who go there.

The existing Phoenix Park Bye-Laws do not provide for the control of the speed of traffic in the Park. The question of introducing a speed limit will be considered in conjunction with the imposition of speed limits generally following the passing of the Road Traffic Act, 1961.
