Vol. 192 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - South Tipperary Cottage Sites.

43.

asked the Minister for Local Government whether his Department received from South Tipperary County Council a compulsory purchase order for twenty-seven cottage sites for his approval; if so, at what date his Department received this compulsory purchase order; and if in view of the fact that the approval of this order is a matter of urgency he will state at what date the order is likely to be considered and approved.

A compulsory purchase order for the acquisition of sites for 27 rural cottages was received in my Department from Tipperary South Riding County Council, on 17th July, 1961. I expect to be in a position very shortly to make a decision on the Order in relation to 22 of the sites. A public local inquiry will be held in regard to the remaining five sites as objections to their acquisition were received.
