Vol. 192 No. 4

Committee on Finance. - Control of Exports (Temporary Provisions) Act, 1956 (Continuance) Bill, 1961—Committee and Final Stages.

Sections 1 and 2 agreed to.
Title agreed to.
Bill reported without amendment and received for final consideration.
Question proposed: "That the Bill do now pass."

Could the Minister say if there is any significance in the extension of the present period?

I do not think there is. The original Bill was due to expire on 9th February, 1959. It was No. 1 of 1956. Therefore, that was a three year limitation. The next Act was passed in 1958 and it was due to expire in March, 1962. That is four years. There is much the same period in each case.

Question put and agreed to.
