asked the Minister for Transport and Power if he will take steps to ensure that the rail service from the West of Ireland to Dublin will be improved to the standards generally accepted as obtaining on the service from Cork to Dublin.

I am informed by the Board of C.I.E. that it is its intention to bring all its main line trains up to the standard of the Cork-Dublin trains and that the Board is taking all possible steps to this end.
