Vol. 192 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Undeveloped Areas Act: Extension to North Tipperary Areas.

47.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce whether in view of the impending extension of the Undeveloped Areas Act he will favourably consider the inclusion of the fringe area of Nenagh, Newtown, Newport and Ballina, North Tipperary where the establishment of an industry would considerably help to solve the emigration problem from that area.

In the review which is now taking place of the original concept of the undeveloped areas and the industrial grants scheme, due regard will be had to the question of facilitating the development of proposals for the establishment of industries in the area described in the Deputy's question.
