Vol. 192 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Division of Wicklow Estates.

40.

asked the Minister for Lands when it is proposed to divide the lands of the Cooney Estate, Maherymore, Wicklow, amongst deserving applicants; and if he has reached a decision on the proposal to set aside portion of this land for use as a cow park.

I understand that the essential preliminary enquiries on the ground in connection with the resale of this estate are nearing completion; the Land Commission would hope to be in a position to finalise allotment proposals at an early date, when a decision will be taken on the application for a cowpark on the lands.

41.

asked the Minister for Lands when it is proposed to divide the land of the Pike Estate, Redcross, County Wicklow, amongst deserving applicants from the district.

Just now I have nothing to add to my reply to the Deputy's previous Question on 27th June last.

Is the Minister aware that this estate has been in the possession of the Land Commission for the last five or six years?

I am not so aware. The estate has not, in fact, been in the possession of the Land Commission for the past five years. According to the information I have, it came in only about three years ago.
