asked the Minister for Defence the number of vessels in the Naval Service; their total tonnage; the average speed of such craft; and the maximum firepower of the most powerfully armed vessel.

The Naval Service has three corvettes with a total standard displacement tonnage of 3,060 tons. Each of the vessels has a maximum speed of 16 knots and is equipped with one 4" quick-firing gun, one two-pounder and four 40 m.m. anti-aircraft guns, and depth charge equipment.
