Vol. 192 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Cleaning of Burnfoot (Donegal) River.

32.

asked the Minister for Finance if he is aware that the lower stretches of the river which flows from Gortcormicass to Inch Level through Burnfoot, County Donegal, is blocked with weeds and silt, that it floods four homes and affects ten farms in the upper regions of the river; and, if so, if he will have this river cleared as soon as possible.

The Commissioners of Public Works have no proposals for the drainage of this river.

Would the Parliamentary Secretary tell me when it was cleared?

It is cleared, anyway.

Answer the question— when was it cleared?

There was a satisfactory clearance reported a few days ago by the County Medical Officer of Health. The first complaint was received in September last.
