Vol. 192 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Old Age Pension Clerks: Eligibility as County Councillors.

74.

asked the Minister for Local Government whether a person holding the post of clerk to an old age pension sub-committee is eligible to be a member of a county council in whose area the sub-committee operates.

I understand that this question has arisen in relation to a member of a county council and that legal advice is being sought by that body. In the circumstances I would not think it proper for me to express an opinion on the matter at this stage.
