Vol. 193 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Letting of Oil Refinery Land.

69.

asked the Minister for Lands if he is aware that 1,200 acres of fertile land owned by the Irish Oil Refinery, Whitegate, County Cork, have been let for three or four successive crops of grain and are now being let for grazing without any grass seeds being put in; and if the Land Commission will consider the propriety of acquiring this land for division amongst deserving applicants.

I understand that an area of some 500 acres owned by the Irish Refining Company Limited has recently been offered for letting in grazing. The Land Commission have no proceedings for acquisition of lands held by this company but the Deputy's representations have been referred to them for consideration.

Questions Nos. 70 and 71 postponed.
