Vol. 193 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Mervue (Galway) Post Office.

92.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he has received a request from the people of Mervue, Galway, for the establishment of a new sub-post office there; and, if so, if he will accede to their request.

I have already indicated, in reply to a similar question on 18th July last and to recent representations on the same subject, that the opening of a sub-post office to serve the Mervue and Renmore areas of Galway is envisaged but that the housing and shopping developments planned there have not yet reached the stage where the most suitable site for the office could be selected. The position will continue to be kept under review and the office will be provided when justified by progress on the building schemes.
