Vol. 193 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Grading Standards for Pigs.

39.

asked the Minister for Agriculture whether his Department have completed their re-examination of proposals to tighten up the grading standards for Grade A pigs; and, if so, what are the results of such re-examination.

I expect to be able to announce to-morrow the changes to be made in pig grading standards.

May I take it that, when the announcement is made, it will not result in a substantial reduction in the price payable for Grade A pigs?

It is better that we should wait until the announcement is made.

I trust that warning note will deter the Minister from any grave folly in this matter.
