Vol. 193 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Conciliation and Arbitration Machinery for Nurses.

3.

andMr. T. Lynch asked the Minister for Health if he will agree to the establishment of conciliation and arbitration machinery for nurse employees of local authorities and voluntary hospitals who have no access to the Labour Court.

The question of introducing a scheme of conciliation and arbitration for nurses employed by health authorities has been under examination in my Department but because of the complexities involved, I am unable at this stage to say when the examination can be completed.

The Minister for Health has no functions regarding management and control of staffs in voluntary hospitals.
