Vol. 193 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Dunmore East (Waterford) Telephone Kiosk.

50.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he will consider the possibility of erecting a second public telephone kiosk and stamp vending machine in the vicinity of the post office at Dunmore East, County Waterford.

There are already two public telephones at Dunmore East, one in the post office and the other in a street kiosk about 400 yards distant. The use likely to be made of an additional street kiosk would not be sufficient to justify its provision.

If a stamp vending machine were to be provided it would, for servicing reasons, have to be located at the post office. Actually, the question of installing a machine at this particular office has already been considered but the cost of the structural alterations involved proved prohibitive.
