Vol. 193 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Nuclear War: Evacuation Plans.

65.

asked the Minister for Defence whether his Department has any plans for the evacuation of cities and towns in the event of a nuclear war; and, if so, whether he will give details of such plans.

Plans for the possible dispersal of part of the population where it is most concentrated, viz. the cities of Dublin and Cork and their environs, in the event of a nuclear war, are at present being prepared for consideration by the Government. I am not in a position to give details of such plans at present.
