The office of district medical officer, Gort dispensary district, is at present held by a temporary officer, who was appointed to the office by the Galway County Council, following advertisement and on the recommendation of a Selection Board. Steps for the filling of the office in a permanent capacity are held up pending the completion of an investigation into the desirability of revising dispensary districts in the area.
