Vol. 193 No. 10

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Dún Laoghaire and Rathdown Housing Schemes.

42.

asked the Minister for Local Government what additional housing schemes will be undertaken this year by the Dún Laoghaire Corporation, and the number of houses in each case.

There are no proposals at present before my Department for the provision of further houses by Dún Laoghaire Corporation. I am informed that the housing authority will review the need for further houses when the scheme of 90 houses at present in progress at "Boley", Abbey Road, Monkstown, is completed.

43.

asked the Minister for Local Government what housing schemes will be undertaken by the Dublin County Council in the Rathdown area during the present year, and the location and number of houses in each case.

I understand from Dublin County Council that documents for an 88 house scheme at Dundrum are in the final stages of preparation and that layout plans are in preparation for schemes of 55 houses in Stillorgan and 62 in Shankill. The housing authority expect that development work on the Dundrum scheme will commence in the next few months. I am not in a position to indicate at this stage when work is likely to begin on the proposed schemes at Stillorgan and Shankill.
