asked the Minister for Justice the names of the Judiciary, with the exception of district justices, the date of appointment in each case, the salary attached to each post; and if a knowledge of Irish is an essential qualification for appointment.

As the reply to the first part of the Question is in the form of a tabular statement, I propose, a Cheann Comhairle, with your permission to circulate it with the Official Report. In reply to the second part of the Question, there are no constitutional or statutory requirements regarding knowledge of Irish for appointment as judge.

Is it true that expenses are as great as the salaries?
