Following is the statement:—
The Table below shows difference between the salaries payable on 1st January, 1955, and those now payable.
In the case of the Garda Síochána, the figures given are based on the maxima of the scales, and on the inclusion in the 1955 pay rates of the average amount of rent allowance payable in that year. Since December, 1960, pay rates are inclusive of rent allowance. The pay of members of the Force above the rank of Chief Superintendent has not yet been revised in the light of increases granted as from 1st November, 1961, to members of other ranks.
