Vol. 194 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Salaries of Home Assistance Officers.

60.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare if he will investigate the delay in his Department in sanctioning the proposal by the Dublin Health Authority in December 1961 to grant increased salaries to temporary home assistance officers employed by the Authority; and when a decision in this matter may be expected.

A proposal was received from the Dublin Health Authority to the effect that temporary assistance officers should be granted increments in respect of service, a course not normally followed.

It was intimated to the Authority that proposals for an increase in basic salary would receive favourable consideration and it is understood that the Authority is formulating proposals of this nature for submission.
