Vol. 194 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Meath Bog Drain.

25.

asked the Minister for Finance if he has received proposals for the cleaning of a bog drain at Bohermeen, Navan, County Meath; and, if so, what is the present position.

An application has been received on behalf of the Bohermeen bog tenants for the cleaning of a bog drain. The proposal will be inspected and will be considered on its merits in competition with all other bog drainage proposals before the Special Employment Schemes Office when the programme of bog drainage schemes for the coming summer is being prepared.

Can the Parliamentary Secretary say what has happened to the application which those people made and which resulted in an inspector examining the job on 18th May, 1960? Has that application been considered?

Yes; it has been considered and a decision should be arrived at shortly.

There was another application on 30th November, 1961. Could the Parliamentary Secretary say with which he is dealing now?
