Vol. 194 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Walkinstown (Dublin) Roundabout.

59.

asked the Minister for Local Government when a grant was sanctioned by his Department from the Road Fund for the construction of a roundabout at Walkinstown, Dublin; and when this work will be undertaken.

A scheme for the construction of a roundabout at Walkinstown was submitted by Dublin County Council under their County Road Improvement Grant for 1958/59, and was approved in principle on 12th July, 1958, subject to the acquisition of the necessary property. The scheme was similarly put forward and approved in 1960/61 and in 1961/62. It is understood that the execution of the work, which is a matter for the County Council, is held up by difficulties in the acquisition of the necessary rights.
