asked the Taoiseach the number of persons employed in ship and boat building in the State; the number of concerns engaged in ship and boat building; and the number of vessels, class by class, completed by these concerns in each of the years 1956 to 1961 inclusive, together with the number and value of such vessels built for export.

According to the records in the Central Statistics Office there are 14 establishments engaged in ship and boat building and repairing. The estimated employment in these establishments is 1,900. The remainder of the information required by the Deputy is in the form of a tabular statement which, with the permission of the Ceann Comhairle, I will circulate in the Official Report.
