Vol. 194 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Division of County Tipperary Farms.

48.

asked the Minister for Lands whether the following farms have been acquired by the Land Commission; and, if so, at what date they will be divided: Frazer's of Ballinamona, Chair; O'Keeffe's of Scartana, Cahir; and Roche's of Raheen, Cahir, County Tipperary.

These three farms have been acquired by the Land Commission—two of them having been taken over within the past few months. It is not yet possible to indicate when the lands will be allotted but there will be no avoidable delay.

Could the Minister state the date on which each of the farms in question was purchased and when proceedings were instituted?

In the first case, possession was taken on 23rd May, 1960; in the second case, on 25th January, 1962; and in the third case, on 20th March, 1962. I have not the information as to when proceedings were instituted.

49.

asked the Minister for Lands whether the Land Commission will consider acquiring and dividing the following farms: (1) Gavin's of Whitechurch, Ballylooby and of Lisava, Cahir; (2) Patrick Casey's of Clonmore; (3) Mrs. Eugene Keating's of Scartana, Cahir; and (4) Miss Heffernan of Clonmore, Cahir, County Tipperary.

Proceedings have already been instituted by the Land Commission for acquisition of the estates at (1) and (3); the properties at (2) and (4) are under enquiry.
