Vol. 194 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Committee on Military Alliances.

72.

asked the Minister for Defence if any committee of civil servants in his Department, or any committee on which civil servants from his Department serve, exists at the moment dealing with matters which might arise in the event of Ireland becoming a member of, or associated with, any military alliance; and, if so, whether he will indicate the terms of reference of any such committee.

73.

asked the Minister for Defence if any Army Committee or any Committee on which Army Officers serve exists at the moment dealing with matters which might arise in the event of Ireland becoming a member of, or associated with, any military alliance; and, if so, whether he will indicate the terms of reference of any such committee.

With your permission, a Cheann Comhairle, I propose to take Questions Nos. 72 and 73 together.

The answer to the first part of each question is in the negative. The second part does not, therefore, arise.
