Vol. 194 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Civil Service Staff Negotiations.

21.

asked the Minister for Finance if his attention has been drawn to the statement made by the President of the Civil Service Clerical Association on 26th March in which he said that within the civil service an archaic, outmoded and dangerously high-handed attitude to staff problems and staff interests existed in the higher echelons of the Department of Finance, and that the operation of the conciliation and arbitration machinery by officials was defeating the Minister's intentions; and whether he has any comment to make on this statement.

My attention has been drawn to the statements to which the Deputy refers. I regard those statements as quite unfounded.
