Vol. 194 No. 12

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Dublin Petrol Filling Station.

12.

asked the Minister for Local Government if it is true (a) that the Dublin Corporation refused special permission to erect a petrol filling station at 87/89 Old Cabra Road, Dublin, on the ground, inter alia, that it would be a hazard to traffic, and (b) that, on appeal, this decision was reversed and permission given by him by order dated 9th October 1961; and, if so, if he will state, in view of the number of service stations in the area and the hazard to traffic of another, why he reversed the decision of the planning authority.

Permission for this filling station was not refused by Dublin Corporation for the reason stated by the Deputy. In determining the appeal I gave full consideration to all relevant factors including traffic hazard.
